Recon Contract

Exploring Recon Contract: A Key Element in First-Person Video Games

Last updated:

A Recon Contract is a type of mission or objective that players can undertake in certain First-Person Shooter (FPS) games, particularly in battle royale games like Call of Duty: Warzone. When a player or team accepts a Recon Contract, they are tasked with securing a specific location on the game map within a set time limit.

Upon accepting the contract, a flare is shot into the sky, visible to all players, indicating the location that needs to be secured. The player or team must then travel to this location and stay within its boundaries for a certain period of time, often while defending against enemy players who may also be drawn to the area.

Successfully completing a Recon Contract typically rewards the player or team with in-game resources, such as weapons, armor, or currency. Additionally, it reveals the next safe zone on the map, giving the player or team a strategic advantage by allowing them to plan their movements and positioning in advance.

However, the flare that signals the start of a Recon Contract also alerts other players to your presence and objective, potentially attracting combat and making the task riskier. Therefore, Recon Contracts add an element of strategy and risk-reward decision making to the game.
