EA Sports, renowned for its popular FIFA football series, is setting the stage for a new chapter in football gaming by rebranding its esteemed series to EA Sports FC. Notably, the first installment under this new banner, EA Sports FC 24, is rumored to hit the shelves on September 29, according to insider information.
A renowned internet sleuth, billbil-kun, who has previously demonstrated credibility by accurately revealing undisclosed products and release dates, shared this scoop via VGC. The slated release date aligns with the historical launch window of the erstwhile FIFA series.
Furthermore, it’s reported that EA Sports FC 24 will feature an early access period of one week exclusively for those who purchase the Ultimate Edition. For context, FIFA 23’s Ultimate Edition had offered players an early access privilege of three days.
The anticipation is soaring for EA Sports FC 24 as it enters the gaming arena with the legacy of FIFA 23, which garnered a staggering 10.3 million players within its first week, thus marking the series’ “biggest launch period” ever.
It is worth noting that EA Sports’ departure from the FIFA name comes after the termination of their longstanding partnership. FIFA had allegedly sought a sum of $1 billion from EA for the continued use of the FIFA branding in a four-year recurring deal. Nonetheless, fans can expect a comparable selection of players, teams, and stadiums in EA Sports FC, owing to EA’s alternate licensing agreements.
In an interesting turn, FIFA is diversifying its reach in the gaming industry. FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, has verified that the organization is venturing into collaborations with an array of third-party studios and publishers, a marked departure from its exclusive alignment with EA.
Infantino confidently remarked, “I can assure you that the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans. The FIFA name is the only global, original title. FIFA 23, FIFA 24, FIFA 25 and FIFA 26, and so on—the constant is the FIFA name and it will remain forever and remain THE BEST.”
